President's Message

What a great Spring PPC Meeting in Houston. I’m still buzzing from the excitement and energy that was coming out of that meeting. And Wow is all I can say, the PPC is BACK !

With what was our biggest turn-out in over 5 years and with the biggest attendance to the PPC College in our 60 year history, yes I’d say we are back. Which means our industry is on the road to recovery. From the years of consolidation and the recession issues that plagued everyone, the Petroleum Packaging Industry seems to have ridden out the down times and is coming back just nicely.

From our opening Rodeo social event to the Keynote Speaker to all of our great sessions to, as I mentioned, the College, the level of participation was unlike any PPC from recent memory. But, we can’t let that excitement waiver; your PPC Board of Directors and Committees are already in high gear working on your Fall Meeting in Chicago. Our goal is to bring you the same level of information and quality of presenters you, in attendance, experienced in Houston.

The PPC has always been built on the wants and needs of its members. We feel we found the winning combination and plan to improve and grow on that.

If you missed this Spring Houston meeting you missed a big one. Get out your calendar now and schedule in Chicago August 15th-17th. It will be a meeting everyone in the petroleum packaging industry will get something out of. And when in Chicago we will be celebrating our 60 wonderful years as an organization. A celebration you will not want to miss!

Please help me spread the word that the Petroleum Packaging Council is providing to their members the information they need to help process and improve the products they deliver. And that the PPC is growing because its members are sharing information that will help us all improve and educate our industry, which in turn is allowing it to prosper.

I again want to take this opportunity to thank all the hard work by our Board of Directors, Committee Chairs and Co-Chairs, all Committee members and Speakers. It’s your excellent work and dedication that made this meeting a success and future meetings something all will want to attend. Thanks you. A special thanks to Joe Schindler, Prime Industries, for again getting us great Rodeo tickets and for Brian Leach, A/R Packaging, for all the great photos he took at the meeting and rodeo.
