Responsibilities:

  • Core leadership role in the development and execution of Blending & Packaging systems, processes and procedures.  Oversight and direction of a team of ~35 Blending & Packaging personnel. Ensures that Blending & Packaging departments are properly staffed and trained.
  • Ensures the safe, reliable and environmentally compliant running of our Blending & Packaging facilities and assets.
  • Clearly communicates company and Blending & Packaging departmental goals around performance and ensures that they are understood.  Holds his team accountable for their performance against these goals.
  • Provides leadership and one-on-one and group coaching to Blending & Packaging employees. Works closely with Vice President of Operations to identify future leaders, and creates individual development plans for these candidates.
  • Collaborates with Sales, Customer Service and Distribution to ensure that Customer Order Fulfillment is maintained at industry benchmark levels.
  • Ensures systems and processes are in place to drive safety, environmental and quality performance by the workgroup.
  • Leads the development of relevant Blending & Packaging systems and procedures required for OSHA PSM compliance.
  • Ensures that our Blending & packaging operations are properly staffed at all times with qualified and competent personnel; immediately communicates to ARG Leadership Team any significant incidents or operational issues.
  • Reviews safety observations and sub-standard equipment reports, then identifies trends or areas of concern. Ensures that all incidents are investigated and participates directly in significant incident investigations.
  • Reports on and analyses Blending & Packaging key performance indicators and drives course correction.
  • Evaluates customers packaging requirements and advises on the most efficient way to safely fulfill the requirements.
  • Ensures that all systems are available so that personnel can fulfill the requirements of an ISO 9001:2008 Quality System.
  • Determines projects and priorities for the Packaging Plant Maintenance Team.
  • Purchase repair and replacement parts for the packaging lines.
  • Manage capital projects from conception to completion in Blending & Packaging.

Job Requirements:

  • 10+years of experience in Operations Management (specifically blending and/or packaging) with demonstrated Operational Excellence (Six Sigma, Lean Management, Continuous Improvement)
  • BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Operational Management, Packaging Engineering)
  • Familiar with a ISO 9001:2008 Quality System
  • Familiar with safety requirements for a packaging and blending facility (OSHA, PSM, etc.)
  • Ability to be on-call and manage a 365/24/7 plant

Director of Quality

The Director of Quality will report to the President/CEO to be accountable for overall lubrication product quality and integrity. This positon is responsible for working with all the teams in the fluid and packaging business for ensuring effective quality control and quality assurance practices are in place to be effectively practiced on a consistent basis from design to delivery. Position will also be responsible for achieving excellent quality conforming to our ISO Quality Management System (QMS) while driving continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Calumet - Package Engineer

Reports To: VP of Marketing, Leah Herrington
Location: Porter, TX

As Package Engineer you will be involved in all packaging steps ranging from design conceptualization to product placement. All steps along the manufacturing process, and more, must be taken into account in the design of the package for any given product. This position will develop packaging that delivers both on quality and cost standards. In addition, this role is critical in identifying new packaging innovations and/or process innovations that impact overall packaging decisions. In this role you must be excellent in managing cross - functional relationships as you will work closely with Marketing, R&D, Manufacturing, and the Supply Chain. Developing key partnerships with outside packaging vendors are a critical element of job responsibilities. Finally, strong communication skills and project management skills are required.

Lubes'n'Greases is the flagship publication of LNG Publishing Co., a Falls Church, VA based business-to-business publishing company. Every month, this award- winning, independent magazine for and about the global lubricants industry delivers hard news, features and informed opinions covering automotive and industrial lubricants, metalworking fluids, greases, base stocks, additives, packaging, biodegradable and synthetic products, companies, people, issues and trends affecting the industry. LNG also publishes a range of print and digital publications for the lubricants industry.

LNG Publishing Co. is looking for a top-flight writer/editor to join an editorial team that produces a monthly magazine viewed as the voice of the lubricant and grease industry. You will be responsible for writing feature and news stories, gathering material from industry authors to be edited or rewritten into columns or features, and contribute substantively to the production of a variety of related publications. You will be a part of a small but accomplished editorial team reporting to our Managing Editor who has 30 years of experience, but started in this same role.

Our ideal candidate must be a curious person with a keen interest in learning a complex, fast-paced industry that is addressing such global issues as environmental responsibility and fuel economy. You should be a business writer/editor with demonstrated skill in building a trusted community of sources as well as the ability to draw information out of people. LNG Publishing Co. is looking for a forward-thinking sales leader to join a team that produces a monthly magazine viewed as the voice of the lubricant and grease industry. As LNG’s chief sales officer, you will be responsible for selling advertising in our existing publications and helping us grow our product line to include highly targeted ad campaigns, digital media, webinars, video news and subscription data products. To do so, you will undertake a thorough analysis of customer needs and marketplace options in an effort to position the firm as an indispensable resource to firms seeking access to companies serving our complex industry. Job Summary

You will be responsible for selling advertising in our growing portfolio of print and online properties. This includes the following broad task areas:

  • Establish and execute a global sales plan including sales pipelines, budgets and revenue forecasts.
  • Research and develop key relationships in order to effectively build revenue, which includes:
    • Developing an excellent rapport with existing advertising base.
    • Researching competitive publications and contacting their advertisers.
    • Attending at least 25 domestic and international conferences where advertisers will be in attendance and approaching them about advertising.

  • Track record of achievement including quotas, success in meeting those quotas as well as references on the publication/advertiser side who will speak to your abilities.
