Spring Meeting 2025: San Antonio Sneak Peek

This post was written by Andrew Johnson, National Account Manager at Graham Packaging.

I hope everyone is excited to kick off the PPC’s 75th anniversary year in San Antonio! The 75th Anniversary is starting strong with an amazing agenda. Here are some of the highlights and agenda items to pay attention to below.

Do you know how to ask the right questions to get the answers you need?

Have you ever thought landing a deal was life or death? What if it was?

We’re kicking off a great meeting with an action-packed keynote address from Evy Poumpouras, former Secret Service Special Agent and Interrogator & Co-Host of Bravo TV’s “Spy Games”. Not only did she protect some of the most important people in America, but she was also a master interrogator specializing in lie detection, human behavior, and cognitive influence. We’re all going to get incredible insight into how to ask the hard questions and get real answers.

Later Monday we will be talking about “Case Packing and Palletizing Solutions for the Petroleum Industry” and then moving into RFID, which is incredibly impactful. If you haven’t started making the transition to RFID labels, you will probably have to soon.

After an incredible night of networking and socializing Monday, it can be difficult waking up at 7:15 Tuesday morning (trust me, I know), but even I don’t miss the TEC Breakfast. The TEC, the Technical Education Committee, helps make sure we are taking about relevant topics and brining in the best speakers in the industry. Our team of volunteers from all different parts of the industry, helps to make sure that we are always setting the talking points for the industry as a whole. This breakfast is one of the best ways to make your voice heard at the PPC for future meetings. Don’t miss it! There is plenty of coffee, I promise.

After the TEC, we get right into sustainability with our friends from the Reusable Industrial Packaging Association (RIPA). As we get into 2025, sustainability and EPR laws are becoming one of the most important topics. As each state starts bringing their own regulations to the market, it will be increasingly important to stay up to date.

After that we are going to hear about “Building Tomorrow’s Leaders Today: The Role of Mentoring in the Workplace” and then our regular Regs & Legs Session with a President Trump twist. Let us help you prepare for the new administration.

The highlight of the petroleum industry social calendar will be the 75th Anniversary Celebration Dinner followed by classic rock super group, Heavy K and the Freaks. The Celebration is our chance to get dressed up and recognize some of the outstanding people who have dedicated their careers to the industry we all work in. We start the night off with a cocktail reception and move into the formal dinner and awards. Afterword is the perfect opportunity to make one more deal or have one or seven more toasts. This year, we will have a professional photographer, so make sure you’re looking good!

It’s going to be THE place to find the latest information on our industry from the best and brightest speakers around. There is no better community of professionals in any industry.

Because the community is so good, this event is an amazing place to network with peers or look to do business. The atmosphere of camaraderie and collaboration make the PPC meeting one of the best parties in the oil industry.
